ABC Family Literacy Day

Another record breaking year with over 900 books given away to kids of all ages. Karen as the Cat In The Hat and her assistant Fiona, read to the crowd before changing hats (literally) to host the Sing For Literacy segment. The audience was on their feet as they sang and danced along to Moppet faves. The celebrity READERS THEATRE session of Hats, Hats, Everywhere Hats was written by Karen and she led the audience as they helped tell the story. Treats for all the children were offered through their parents (REMEMBER CHILDREN: never to take candy from strangers!).

Four County Childcare Conference

Karen hosted a 90 minute presentation called: CIRCLE TIME COMES ALIVE! Rhymes are relevant on the path to literacy. Let's walk through techniques in bringing classics to life, contemporary to the classroom and have fun with music. Feedback was fabulous.

New Year's Eve Downtown Countdown

We counted down the seconds to welcome in 2009 with happy faces at the annual event.

Families enjoyed lots of entertainment, face painting and more.

Karen and her side-kick on keyboards, Brian, sang and danced through the last moments of 2008 - well, in Iceland Time anyway.
We counted down the New Year at 9 pm Peterborough Time and headed home for a good night's sleep!

The choir of moppet penguins joined musicians Karen Taylor, Chris Foster and Curtis Driedger to sing along with Karen for this Winter Wonderland Morning.

Parents, grandparents and children of all ages joined in the fun as we made imaginary cookies, pretended we were Jack in the Box's
and sang about the real meaning of Christmas - Jesus.
